Extraordinary Desserts You Can Whip Up With Your MILO® at Home

A good ice blended MILO® recipe is usually our go-to option when making simple desserts using readily available ingredients at home. Moreover, every household in Malaysia commonly has a big can or a pack of MILO® for daily use, especially as a caffeine-free energy booster drink in the morning.

Before we share our choice of an easy and tasty MILO® ice-blended recipe, let’s look at other famous desserts that you can serve with this highly favoured chocolate malt drink powder.

MILO MY

MILO® Batik Cake

Calling this indulgent dessert a cake may be slightly misleading, but what both regular cakes and batik cakes have in common might be their decadence. This dessert is called a batik cake among the locals due to its texture when sliced, resembling a beautiful batik print. This dessert is a winner for those who have a sweet tooth and is a hit among children.

The batik pattern comes simply from packing a crushed cracker with condensed milk and MILO® powder. If you’d like to make it yourself, melt a few tablespoons of butter in a pot. Prepare crushed plain biscuits beforehand, and add them into the butter with half a cup of MILO® and condensed milk. Mix the batter and pack them in a container.

After you refrigerate them overnight, cut them into pieces and serve accordingly. A few slices can go a long way because they can be intensely sweet. Adjust the amount of condensed milk to your taste to control the sweetness level.

MILO® Steamed Chocolate Cake

On the other hand, you can still use MILO® powder to make a more traditional cake that we’re familiar with. Like a chocolate cake, the MILO® is often used to substitute the cocoa powder in a chocolate cake recipe. As a result, we can get a rich chocolate cake-like dessert.

With basic cake ingredients such as self-raising flour, butter, eggs, and the clutch ingredient MILO® powder, you can assemble a batter that you can steam to form a very moist sponge cake. Use MILO® to make a delicious chocolate glaze – use a few tablespoons of MILO® powder and double-boil it with equal amounts of sweetened condensed milk.

MILO® Ice-Blended

A simpler alternative of a MILO® dessert goes back to basics with a glass of ice-cold drink. With this MILO® Ice-Blended recipe, you can quench your thirst and enjoy the sweet and decadent chocolate taste, especially when you’re sweating under the hot weather.
